All men in the world have “…sinned and fall short of the glory of God…” (Romans 3:23). The Bible tells the people of earth that they are morally corrupt and God is superior to them. Moral corruption, otherwise known as sin, is any reprehensible or regrettable action, behavior, lapse, etc.; great fault or offense. There must be a reason why people commit terrible acts and deeds. Pride leads to these acts and deeds. Pride is defined as a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc. People, at one point in their life, think they are better than someone else whether it be looks, athletic ability, or smarts. It is a part of their sinful and corrupt behavior.
People consider many sins to be the one that leads to all other immoral acts. Murder and pillaging are intense crimes but what leads people to doing them. There must be a root to all sin that guides to others. Maybe it is rebelling against God, defying the Great Almighty. It could also be something smaller as disobeying parents. Pride seems to only have people think they are superior to their fellow man. Could pride, in fact, lead to all other sins?
You defined pride well in your first paragraph. Nice transition into your research question in your second paragraph.
ReplyDeleteHey buddy, good job on communicating your ideas. I agree with Charlie, you defined Pride well. Try to stay away from words like "etc." Other than that well done broski.
ReplyDeleteI think you have something good started! Nice transition at the end when you introduce your question. The first paragraph left me a little confused. Try to bring it together and make the ideas a little less choppy if you can. I enjoyed your definition of pride very much, and like Brandon said, steer clear of the ect.
ReplyDeleteThe first paragraph confused me alittle too but your definition of pride was good. I liked your second paragraph it sets up what your essays going to be about.
