My Walk
So today when I went on my walk, it was pretty cold. The lake was frozen and it was very icy. Anyways, most of the pictures I took were of trees covered in snow in my neighborhood or of the frozen lake. I took some pictures of ducks and geese walking on the lake as well. I only took a couple pictures of the houses on my walk. As I was walking with my camera in hand, I started to think about what's going to happen after this year. This is what every senior has been thinking about. I was thinking what college am I going to and what will it be like when I graduate? I took a picture of my house and was a little sad. I might not live with my family after I graduate. Everything will change. I kept walking and I decided to go to the lake. The ice was thick enough for me to stand on it. It was awesome! I was just amazed by the beauty of the lake. I'm okay with how my life is right now with friends and family. I am a little stressed about my future but I know that everything will be okay because God has given me everything I need to comfort me.

This was my favorite part: "The ice was thick enough for me to stand on it. It was awesome!" If for NO OTHER REASON then you discovered the lake was frozen and you got to stand on it: I'm glad I made you take this walk. How often does one get to stand on a frozen lake?? That's so great! If we don't venture outside (and I mean that literally and figuratively), we miss the gifts that are there. I remember once going on a bike ride, trying to get myself out of an angry mood. I got to UW's campus and saw the big fountain on, and just the top 3 feet of water caught the light from the setting sun. Where the light shone through the water, it was impossibly beautiful. I remember thinking (maybe Someone put the thought into my head), "This is yours to find: every day."
ReplyDeleteLove that you went FINDING!
And loved your conclusion: yes things will change, yes you will be okay, and yes, God will always be there.
